Nancy and I had a great time and learned a lot at your Defensive Shooting Class. We have told a lot of people what a great experience it was. We have three boys and they all are interested in your class now. We are also looking forward to taking the class again to help better embed the many important concepts and ideas covered, plus it was just fun! We also plan to take several other of your classes when they are offered. We are very impressed with the quality of the instruction and with the range itself, which is very well designed and appointed. We liked very much your attentiveness to safety at all times. Your Defensive Shooting Class is a must for those who want to develop the skills needed to go along with a concealed carry permit. We think the class covers a lot of critical issues. We are very pleased with what we learned, and intend to continue to practice the techniques and safety concepts covered.

I wanted to let you know I enjoyed the class (Defensive Shooting) and learned a ton! Prior to the class my experience was limited to target shooting at the range and the CCW class I took over a year ago. Drawing, holstering, and presenting the weapon was mostly all new. The SUL position was totally new. I know it was part of the training, but keeping my mags loaded was probably my biggest hurdle. My holster also presented a problem in that it would not easily release the gun — I should have had that corrected prior to the class. My plan is to practice the skills presented over the winter and possibly re-take the class next spring. I thought your facility was excellent. You did a great job in presenting the material. Your emphasis on safety was excellent. Going from an indoor range environment to an outdoor defense class was very different. I appreciate the fact that you kept us all in control! Dianne did a great job as well. I look forward to the next class.

Thanks for the quick score report, and the nice words. Again I apologize for what I did to “Bubba.” I could not make that shot again for a million bucks. Your class was top notch. In my 20 years of law enforcement I never received such thorough “real life” training in one day. Many of the things you taught us on Saturday were taught to me by the police department, but over several years of twice-a-year one-day training sessions. Your night firing training was first rate and by far exceeded what I was able to do while with the police department. I have not trained since I retired in 2006, but I can honestly say that one day with you has brought me up to date and has returned me to my “tactical mind set” that I may have let lapse. Many thanks to you, Dianne, and Dave for providing such a great class.

The emphasis on safety was one of the most important things this class taught. Mr. and Mrs. Raper are both excellent teachers in the use of a firearm. Whether the students are beginners or have been shooting for years, you will learn to do things you didn’t know you were capable of. PLEASE DON’T WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ELSEWHERE!

Since Marge took your GALS class and CHC class, she has applied for her permit, bought a Ruger SR9C, gone to an indoor range with me, and practiced dry firing almost daily. It took me 30+ years to get her interested in shooting, but less than 2 hours for you to give her the “bug”. If you ever need a reference, please feel free to call me or Marge.

I think your courses, two so far, are among the finest of any kind I have participated in for the money. I worked in the pharmaceutical industry for 35 years and have taken dozens of drug manufacturing management, regulatory and safety courses. I really enjoyed both your concealed carry class in December as well as your defensive shooting class in January. Chris, you had me doing things I didn’t know I could do and/or had never tried before. Both shooting on the move and with “opposite hand” was brand new for me. I just wanted to take a second and let you know how much I enjoyed your class. I have been shooting handguns for a long time, but that one afternoon class made a bigger impact than any trip I have ever made to a range! I feel much better about my ability to draw and shoot, especially when moving in any direction. That’s just something you cannot experience at a range. I enjoyed it so much that my wife is going to take your CCW class early next year and I will come back for a second time with her to the Defensive Shooting class just to reinforce what I learned the first time. Worth every penny!

Brock and I thoroughly enjoyed the defensive handgun class for permit holders. The class was very informative with many drills that cannot be performed at most ranges. Information was delivered in a very understandable way, as is usual for your classes. Chris, your patience and information delivery methods help relieve any tension that students may have. As you said, the best way to be safe is to not put yourself in a dangerous or stupid situation. One big selling point of your class is your promise to help our attorney in our defense if we are unfortunate enough to have to use our firearm in self defense. On a personal note: your classes allow Brock and I to spend quality time together enjoying something we both love. That father/son time gets harder and harder to find. Thank you for a fabulous experience.
